45 years of experience in gold mining and metal detecting
The story behind our 45 years as gold diggers.
In the 1960s, I (Lars Guldström) was looking for and diving on shipwrecks. However, it was not so easy to find the wrecks, so I then constructed a special detector that would be able to find sunken wrecks. Unfortunately, I made "a small mistake" and accidentally made the detector a million times too sensitive. When I then tried it in real life, out at sea, it gave results on "everything", i.e. steel objects that were "however small". The detector then had to be put on the shelf for that long.
Yes, not one that can be bought today, but a very, very early model. The device hadn't even been named yet, the Golden Spear. Well - the apparatus was to be tested in "the harsh reality", in some place where there was gold. In an old, old reference book I read that there would be gold in northern Finland.
Was there, it was not specified.
